SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN

Chicken can be made in a lot of varieties. Try this sweet and sour chicken recipe for a little twist in your regular home cooking. Hope you enjoy making this one at home. All the best!

For the Chicken

  • 1 ‏Egg
  • 2 tbsp ‏Flour
  • 2 tbsp ‏Corn flour
  • ½ tsp ‏Salt
  • ½ tsp ‏Chinese salt
  • 2 tbsp ‏Vinegar
  • ¼ tsp ‏Baking powder
  • ½ cup ‏Chicken cut in square cubes

Method for Chicken Pakoras

  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, Chinese salt and vinegar and keep for three hours.
  2. Take the egg, flour, corn flour and make a paste by mixing well. Dip the chicken in the mixture and fry.  Chicken pakoras are ready.

Ingredients

  • 2 leaves ‏Cabbage
  • one large ‏Carrot
  • 2 ‏Onion cut in square cubes
  • ¾ tsp ‏Salt
  • ‏Chinese salt as required
  • ‏White pepper as required
  • ¼ cup ‏Sugar
  • ¼ tbsp ‏White vinegar
  • ‏Red food color a bit
  • ¼ cup ‏Tomato sauce
  • 1 ½ cup ‏Chicken soup (yakhni)
  • 2 tsp ‏Soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp ‏Corn flour
  • 1/3 cup ‏Corn oil
  • 2 ‏Capsicum cut in square cubes

Directions

  1. Put some oil on in a pan and add cabbage, carrots, onions, capsicum, salt, white pepper and cook for some time.
  2. Next add chicken soup, white vinegar, sugar, soya sauce and cook for fifteen more minutes.
  3. Now add the chicken pakoras and in the end add corn flour and take it off fire after two more minutes.
