From hundreds of sushi roll recipes, we share with you one of our favorite. We have tried to keep this recipe simple. Do try at home and let us know. All the best!
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 60 gm tuna, cut in squares
- 60 gms salmon
- 1 Cucumber, cut in julienne style
- 1 carrot, cut in julienne style
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- 5 Nori seaweed sheets
Take a nori sheet, with the shiny side down and place it on a bamboo mat. Layer sushi rice on it evenly with your fingers. Before picking up the rice, wet your hands with cold water. Now place tuna/salmon squares and vegetables on top of the rice. Do not over fill the sheet.
Press the filling with your fingers and using your thumbs pick up the bamboo sheet end closer to you and start rolling in the direction away from you. This will need a bit of a practice as you need firm hands and some idea as to how much filling would make for a perfect roll.
Now when you have rolled the sheet, cut it in two halves. Cut out three more from each half to make 6 rolls from each sheet. Repeat the process with other fillings.
