Pakora curry:- This sour curry is prepared by the combination of besan, yogurt and delicious pakora’s, seasoned with spices and served with boiled rice, it makes a perfect traditional Pakistani and Indian meal.

FOR CURRY

  • 4 tbsp ‏Gram flour
  • 1 ‏Onion (chopped)
  • 3/4 tsp ‏Salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ‏Red Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ‏Garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp ‏Turmeric powder
  • 3 1/2 cup ‏Water
  • 1/2 kg ‏Yogurt

FOR PAKORA

  • 1 tsp ‏Red Chili powder
  • 4 ‏Green Chilies (chopped)
  • 1 ‏Onion (chopped)
  • 4 tbsp ‏Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp ‏Mint leaves (chopped)
  • 1 ‏Egg (beaten)
  • 1 tbps ‏Coriander Seeds & Cumin (rosted and crushed)
  • 1/4 cup ‏Water
  • 3/4 tsp ‏Salt
  • 1 1/2 cup ‏Gram flour

FOR BHIGAR

  • 4 tbsp ‏Oil
  • 2 ‏Whole Red Chilies
  • 5-6 ‏Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp ‏White Cumin Seeds

Directions

  1. Add yogurt, gram flour, red chili powder, salt, garlic paste, turmeric powder in a blender along with 1 1/2 cup water and blend it well.
  2. Pour this blended mixture in a pan with chopped onion and remaining 2 cups of water. Cook on high flame.
  3. Keep moving spatula in the mixture until it starts boiling. Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes until the curry becomes thick.
  4. Meanwhile take a large bowl and make pakora batter. Add gram flour, salt, chopped onion, red chili powder, chopped green chilies, chopped coriander and mint leaves, beaten egg, crushed coriander seeds and cumin. Mix well along with water to make a thick batter.
  5. Heat oil in a wok. Pour the pakora batter in the wok with the help of spoon. Fry from both sides on medium heat till golden brown. Take out in a dish.
  6. When curry is ready, add in pakora’s.
  7. For bhigar, heat oil in a frying pan. Add curry leaves, cumin seeds and whole red chilies and fry on low flame for a minute.
  8. Pour this bhagar over pakora curry and serve hot with boiled rice.ENJOY!
