A smoothie is a blended sweetened beverage made from fresh fruit. Smoothies have milkshake- like consistency thicker than slush drinks. They also contain milk, yogurt or ice cream.
This is a smoothie with fruit and fruit juices with a little yogurt.
- 1 cup pineapple
- 6 strawberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 guava
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup crushed ice
Canned or fresh pineapple, both can be used. If u are taking fresh pineapple, peel it and cut it into chunks so it can be easily blended. It’s best to use fresh fruits instead of canned ones.
Take strawberries, wash them in a bowl of water by dipping them in it. The dirt settles at the bottom and you can pick out the cleaned strawberries from the bowl. Change the water and repeat this process thrice. Cut off the green part and slice these strawberries.
Wash guava, peel them and cut into slices after removing the seeds.
When everything is prepared, put juices and fresh fresh fruits slices in a blender and keep blending till no chunks are left.
Next add yogurt, sugar and crushed ice and blend. If you want fruity chunky smoothie, add fruit slices at the end to the blender and lessen the time of blending.
When ready, pour into tall glasses with the pineapple slice at the rim of the glass. Serve cold.
For summer smoothies, put the smoothie glasses into the fridge first before filling them with yummy smoothies.
