Butterfly French Toast

A classic french toast recipe with vanilla extract..

Ingredients

  • 2 slices ‏bread
  • 1 ‏egg
  • 1/4 cup ‏milk
  • 3 teaspoon ‏honey
  • 2 tablespoons ‏butter
  • 1 ‏cheese stick
  • 1 ‏strawberry, for garnishing
  • 5-6 drops ‏vanilla essence

Directions:

  1. Mix together egg, milk, honey and vanilla essence in a bowl. You can use sugar if you want instead of honey but for children honey is always a healthier choice. Vanilla essence gives a nice aroma for picky toddlers who avoid eggs.

  2. Dip bread in this mixture and allow to soak for 5 minutes on both sides.

  3. Take a non-stick pan and heat it over medium heat. Melt 1 tbs butter in it. Place slice of bread in it and cook from one side until it is golden brown, then flip. Take care to cook it on medium heat as cooking on high heat burns the egg and gives a bad taste. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes for one side. Repeat this for the other slice.

  4. Now assemble the butterfly. Place cheese stick for the body and cut wings and head from bread slices. Garnish with strawberry and serve.
